Dayanand Shetty is Indian Television and film actor. He also worked as a model. In school time he was a sports person but due to a leg injury, he moves towards modeling. He got famous with his role as Daya in Tv serial 'CID'.

He was born in a Tulu speaking Bunt family in Katapadi village of Udupi district of Karnataka on 11 December 1969. His parents are Chandra Prakash Shetty and Uma Shetty. He has two sisters. From Rizvi College, Bandra he completed his B.com. He and Aditya Srivastava (as Abhijeet in CID) are real life best friends.

He is a good sports player and won many prizes for shot put and discus throw but when he got leg injury during the game he left sports and moves towards acting. In 1998 he gave audition for the CID and got selected as the role of senior inspector Daya. Some of the episodes of CID is also written by him. As a contestant, he also participated in the dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhlaja' season 4. He also played some roles in movies like 'Johnny Gaddaar', 'Runway' and 'Singham Returns'. In 2014 he participated in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' but after doing many stunts he was eliminated from the show. He with his team also came on 'Kon Banega Crorepati'.

While doing sports he won many prizes. In the Gold Awards, he won the award for best supporting actor in CID. In the Tulu language play 'Secret' he won the best actor award. By Indian Television he was voted as the best looking guy in 2002.
