He joined Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee after successfully auditioning at Daegu. He became a band member of BTS in 2013. He had co-written and co-produced a song "Hold Me Tight" for the play "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1". He also released a cover of the song "Hug Me" along with J-Hope. He also released a song "4 O'Clock" which he had co-produced with RM on June 8, 2017.
