She formed an R&B group, called Fayze (later named as Sista). The band's first song was "Brand New". Timothy Mosley (Timbaland) who is her neighborhood friend also join the group. She and Timbaland work together as a production team crafting tracks for acts including SWV and 702 including Aaliyah. They wrote nine tracks of Aaliyah's second album, One in a Million. Her album "2002's Under Construction" was the best selling female rap album. Her sixth solo album was "The Cookbook".
