He started rapping when he was eight. He dropped his school when he was 14. He was 15 when he released his album "Get It How U Live!". His first solo album "Tha Block Is Hot" when he was 17. His album "The Carter" was released in 2004 and "Tha Carter II" was released in next year. He worked with Birdman for the album "Like Father, Like Son". His tenth album " I Am Not a Human Being" was released in 2010.
