She has one younger sister Meg Pokrass who is also a flash fiction author, editor, and teacher. She is an avid lover of writing. Prior to becoming an actress, she wanted to become an author, and because of her more interest in writing she ended her acting career and started her writing career. She got married to Peter Gelblum on 3rd November 1979, but they got separated in 2001, they have one child.
