Fern Andra, born in a circus family on November 24, 1893, on Watseka, Illinois, U.S. She was an actress, film director,
scriptwriter and producer. Her stepfather was a vaudeville actor, circus performer, and tight-rope walker. She was married four times, first, she was married to Baron Friedrich von Weichs but he died in 1917, after that she married Kurt Prenzel in 1923 or maybe it's 1924 but taken divorce from him. In 1932, she gets married to Ian Keith and also divorced him. Finally, she married Gen. Samuel Edge Dockrell in 1938, he died in 1973. She died one year after her husband's death in Aiken, South Carolina, on February 8, 1974.
Career of Fern Andra
She started performing in front of the audience at a very small age of four years as she belongs to a circus family. Her first film was a version of Uncle Tom's Cabin. However, she remained working with the circus after that and also makes the tour of United States, Canada, and Europe with them.
When she was in Berlin she met Max Reinhardt who teaches her acting and she got a role in German film, "Das Ave Maria". Also, she had worked in an Austrian film "Zwei Freunde". Her performance in expressionist horror film Genuine led to a great arousal.
She had also worked for radio and television in the UK and the US. Some of her contribution in film line was Madame Récamier and The Night of Queen Isabeau in 1920, The Red Rider in 1923, Women of Passion in 1926. In 1927 Radio Magic, Spangles and The Warning in 1928, The Burgomaster of Stilemonde in 1929. In 1930, her performance was seen in The Eyes of the World and Lotus Lady.
