She started her acting career with the film Junoon. She had a lead role in the film Ek Baar Phir. She appeared with Farooq Sheikh in the film Chashme Buddoor which was greatly admired and they appeared in many films like Saath Saath, Kissi Se Na Kehna as a couple. She also appeared in Soap Opera Mukti Bandhan on Colors. As a director, she directed the film Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish. She also directed the television series Thoda Sa Aasmaan.
