Vikram also known as Chiyaan Vikram is Indian film actor, producer and singer mainly active in Tamil & Malyalam Films. He started his career as an actor in 1990 with Tamil film “En Kadhal Kanmani”, till now he has appeared in more than 50 films including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films and credited with one national film award, four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, seven Filmfare Awards South and many more.

Struggling period:
Vikram made his dubut with film “En Kadhal Kanmani” in 1990 that was followed by number of low cost films that went unrecognized, During his struggling period he worked in supporting roles. When he was not getting tamil film he started doing Telugu film also worked as dubbing artist. Vikram has very long struggling period of almost 10 years and worked in near about 25 movies.
Victory over struggle with “Sethu”:
1999 released Tamil Film “Sethu” directed by debutant director Bala was proved game changer for Vikram as movie was big critical and commercial success. For this movie he loosed 21 KG weight, shaved his head, grew nails and did not accept any other acting offer to maintain continuity of looks. Vikram got recognition from this movie and won special Jury Award from Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Cinema Express Awards and Filmfare Awards South. Vikram adapted Chiyaan(character name in sethu) as prefix to his screen name and renamed it “Chiyaan Vikram”.
1999 to present:
After success of Sethu Vikram appeared in many successful movies like Dhill (2001), Kaasi(2002), Gemini (2002), Saamurai(2002), Dhool (2003) and Saamy (2003). 2003 relesed “Pithamagan” where Vikram played role of gravedigger suffering from autism spectrum disorders made him won his first National Award for best actor. Vikram is known as versatile actor for portraying wide variety of characters on screen with perfection. In Anniyan(2005) he played role of lawyer with multiple personalities, Superhero of Kanthaswamy (2009), tribal leader and lawbreaker Veeraiya in Mani Ratnam’s “Raavanan”, debilitated person with hunchback in Tamil/Telugu/Hindi film ‘?’I(2015) and many more

During college Vikram met with a major accident in which his leg was terribly injured and he underwent 23 surgeries in four years. He was bedridden for three years and on cruthes for one year before he fully recovered.
