He appeared in films like The Kitchen and The L-Shaped Room in the 1960s. He was Adolf Eichmann in tv-series Holocaust. He was also featured in Wish You Were Here, Peter Greenaway's Prospero's Books in the 1980s. He was a murder victim in the film The Krays. He was an owner of a waxworks museum in Hope It Rains. He played the role of a sexist police officer, Detective Sergeant Bill Otley in ITV series Prime Suspect. His final screen appearance was also in the seventh: Prime Suspect: The Final Act.
