He started his career with theatre and his first on broadway performance was a small part in "Tall Story" in 1959. He made his on-screen debut in 1960 and appeared as a guest star in various television programs like The Untouchables, Naked City, Perry Mason, and The Twilight Zone. His first film role in the comedy film "Tall Story." He played a starring role in the drama film "The Natural."
