An American actor who performs as Nick Williams and Mr. Mike was born in Miami, Florida, the U.S. on May 1, 1939. His full name was Raymond Douglass Aranha but he was famous as Ray Aranha. He was an actor, playwriter, and a stage director. He won a Drama Desk Award for his own written play My Sister, My Sister in 1974. He was popular for his Maid in Manhattan (2002), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) and Dead Man Walking (1995). First, he was married to Jean McIntyre on 19 March 1976 and after getting the divorce from her. He married again with Jean Mills on 6 July 1985. He has three children named Delanie, Marc, and Teri and also has three grandchildren. He died in Stamford, Connecticut, the U.S. due to the stroke on October 9, 2011, when he was 72.

He was a Cop in Bathroom in the film A Stranger Is Watching in 1982, and Arthur in Five Corners which was released in 1987. He had worked in 18 episodes of Married People as Nick Williams in between 1990-1991. His character was Errol in City of Hope in 1991. And performing as Mr. Mike for 12 episodes of The Heights in 1992. In 1994, his role was of Bruford Jamison, Sr in Drop Squad. In 1993, he was in episode Hallelujah of American Playhouse as Reverend Foy. And also in episode POWER: The Eddie Matos Story of Lifestories: Families in Crisis as Victor in 1994. From 1994 to 1997 he worked in 2 episodes of New York Undercover as Jamell Johnson, Mel Dunston. And as Dr. Henry for 2 episodes of Law & Order in between 1994-1999. His appearance in Are You Afraid of the Dark? as Cap Anderson, in the episode, The Tale of Train Magic in 1995 made him famous within a night. In the same year, he worked as Janitor and Luis Montoya in Die Hard with a Vengeance and Dead Man Walking. In 1996, he worked in the films City Hall, Box of Moon Light, and Twisted as James Bone, Soapy, and Can Man. He was Professor Aranha and Cappy Dover in the films Deconstructing Harry and The Kid which was released in 1997. He performed as James in the episode Chemistry of Cosby in 1998. And as Barnett Freeman in the episode "Journey to the Himalayas" of Third Watch in 2000. He was Harry Lockemather in 2 episodes of Ed in 2001 also he had done the role of Man in Central Park in Good Advice in the same year. In 2002, he performed Busdriver in the film Maid in Manhattan and as a Mailman in Shortcut to Happiness in 2003 and this was his final film role.
