He started his acting career with a small role in the film Sarfarosh. He had done many uncredited small roles in the films like Shool, Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar! He appeared as short-tempered intelligence officer Khan in Kahaani. He appeared in Gangs of Wasseypur. He had a lead role in the horror film Aatma and also in the blockbuster Kick. He portrayed Chand Nawab in the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

She also said that she has only 81 INR with her and has no way to go with two kids on this night. For this, the actor explained that he and his wife are staying away from each other for several years so the allegation of throwing her out of the house proves invalid. Also, he is paying money of about 10 lakhs per month for the upbringing of kids plus their school fees, medical, and traveling expenses in Dubai. The dowry case was also rejected by Mumbai Court.
