Keith Andes was an American actor who had worked for films, television, and radio and he had also worked for musical theater and stage. He was a student at Oxford University and completed his graduation from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Career of Keith Andes
He had given his fabulous performances in radio, films, television as well as on stage.

Radio


He had worked as a disc jockey for radio stations KYW, WFIL, and WIP. In his high school, he had sung and acted for radio.

Film


He got his first film break with a small role in the film Winged Victory in 1944. He had a small but unforgettable role in The Farmer's Daughter as Sven Holstrom in 1947. In Project X, he was Steve Monahan in 1949. In 1952, he had worked in two films Clash by Night as Joe Doyle, Blackbeard the Pirate as Robert Maynard. In the following year, his character was Larry Fleming in the film Split Second. In 1954, this film was A Life at Stake and his character was Edward Shaw. He was Rev. Peter Maxwell in the film The Second Greatest Sex which was released in 1955. His three films were released in 1956, as Doctor Bell in Away All Boats, as Joe Brooks in Back from Eternity, as Capt. Tom Gaxton in Pillars of the Sky. He had worked in two films Interlude as Dr. Morley Dwyer and The Girl Most Likely as Neil Patterson, Jr. in 1957. His wonderful performance was seen in the movie Damn Citizen as Col. Francis C. Grevemberg in 1958. He had acted in two films in 1959 which were Model for Murder and Surrender - Hell! as David Martens and Col. Donald D. Blackburn, he had a voice role in The Tattooed Police in 1964. He appeared in two films in 1970, Hell's Bloody Devils and Tora! Tora! Tora! and his final performance was in the film And Justice for All as Marvin Bates.

Television


His first television performance was in one episode of Playhouse 90. His character was of Frank Dawson in the syndicated police drama, This Man Dawson and series lasted for 1959 to 1960. He appeared in the episode "Firebug" of the CBS anthology series, GE True in 1963. Also in the same year, he had worked in Desilu CBS sitcom, Glynis and he was the husband of the lead character which was played by Glynis Johns. He had a starring role in Paradise Bay, he played the role of manager of a radio station in 1965. His wonderful performance was seen in the series Cannon, Death Valley Days, Daniel Boone, I Spy, The Andy Griffith Show, The Rifleman, Perry Mason. He had performed the role of Prime Minister Darius in the episode "Buck's Duel to the Death" of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

He had provided his voice in the animated Birdman and the Galaxy Trio and also in films And Justice for All and Tora! Tora! Tora!

He had appeared in the Broadway show Kiss Me, Kate and had a starring role in the musical Wildcat. His performance was also seen in The Lucy Show. He had also won Theater World Award for his wonderful performance in The Chocolate Soldier.
