Career of John Ashley
Acting
He auditioned for a role in Dragstrip Girl at American International Pictures and they signed him to a four-picture non-exclusive contract. He also appeared in several beach party movies like Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Beach Blanket Bingo, How to Stuff a Wild Bikini. He has done many films with Eddie Romero including Brides of Blood, Hell on Wheels.
Television
When his contract with AIP ended up, he appeared in many television shows. Some of them are Henry Fonda show The Deputy, The Millionaire, and Wagon Train. He had also starred in High School Caesar and guest appeared in Death Valley Days. He also co-starred in ABC adventure series Straightaway with Brian Kelly in the period of 1961 to 1962.
Music career
Besides acting, he was also a good singer and has recorded many records including "Seriously in Love", "Let the Good Times Roll", "Born to Rock", "The Hangman" and "Little Lou". The collection of his music was released in 2011 as Born to Rock by the German label Hydra Records. In the film Hot Rod Gang, he has sung many songs and played as himself.
Producer
He founded a company with Romero called Four Associates Ltd and its first film was Beast of the Yellow Night which was released in 1971. He was an executive producer of The Big Doll House and this film gain a huge success. After that, he produces many films like The Woman Hunt, Black Mama White Mama, Black Mamba.
