About Claude Akins
Claude Marion Akins was an American actor who worked on stage, screen, and television. He was born on May 25, 1926, in Nelson, Georgia, U.S. and he died due to cancer in Pasadena, California on January 27, 1994.
He had worked for U.S. Army Signal Corps in World War II in Burma and the Philippines. He was married to Therese Fairfield in 1952 and they have three children.
Career of Claude Akins
His first break was "From Here to Eternity" in 1953 and in 1954 his role was of seaman and shipmate of Lee Marvin in The Caine Mutiny and Naval Lt. Commander Farber in Don't Give Up the Ship In 1966 he worked in film Return of the Seven and in Seasons of the Heart in 1993.
He had worked in many series, he worked as a villain in The Adventures of Superman. Most of his work was on western which includes Frontier, My Friend Flicka (three times), Boots and Saddles, Northwest Passage, The Restless Gun (four times), Sheriff of Cochise, Wagon Train (four times), Overland Trail, Frontier Circus, The Tall Man, The Rebel, The Big Valley, Daniel Boone, The Legend of Jesse James, Death Valley Days, Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre (four times).
Once, he worked on Richard Diamond, Private Detective, Empire, Laredo. In "Killer on Horseback", an episode of the NBC anthology series Star Stage, his role was a rodeo clown who had convicted armed robbery.
He had a guest appearance in three episodes each of Combat! (4th and 5th seasons) and The Untouchables. In 1991 he played his last T.V. role of a kidnapper and who was killed by Lonnie Jamison and Bubba Skinner. In the Heat of the Night. He had also given his voice in many video game.

I still remember Mr. Akins' powerful voice and the big man he was in many shows as I was growing up, Big Valley, Hoolagin Squatter, we still laugh at that one of the greats, we all remember as we knew him and we did.
