Career of Georgia O'Keeffe
She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1905 to 1906. Her oil painting Dead Rabbit with Copper Pot won her the League's William Merritt Chase still-life prize. She started teaching art in 1911. In 1916, her friend took her paintings to Alfred Stieglitz at his 291 Gallery and he agreed to display them.
