- SeaWorld was established in the year 1964. The original idea was that of an underwater restaurant but later it developed into a marine zoological park. During its initial year, there were merely 45 employees, several dolphins, sea lions, and two seawater aquariums.
- Among its many shows are Orca Encounter, which highlights the park's killer whales and various aspects of their lives. Dolphin Days is a program where guests can meet the Whale & Dolphin family and learn what inspires their trainers. Sea Lions Live is a show that spoofs television shows and music, featuring California sea lions and Asian small-clawed otters. Sea Rescue, on the other hand, is an indoor theater that shows SeaWorld's efforts in saving injured marine animals.
- SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund has granted more than $9 million to wildlife research and conservation projects around the world. It strives in advancing the global scientific community?s understanding of animals.
- Shamu was SeaWorld San Diego's very first orca whale. She was captured by a fisherman near the end of 1965 and lived at SeaWorld until her death in 1971.
