About Studley Royal Park
Studley Royal Park is an 18th-century landscaped garden situated in North Yorkshire, England. The garden was developed around the Cistercian Fountains Abbey, now only ruins of Abbey existed. The garden alongside Abbey consisted of 323 hectares. The abbey came into existence with the efforts of Benedictine monks in the year 1132. However, a water garden was constructed in 1718 by John Aisabie. St. Mary?s Church is also located in the garden which is also a Gothic revival masterpiece. It is now a World Heritage Site protected by UNESCO.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Studley Royal Park
- The medieval deer park also situated here. It has three types of deer Fallow Deer, Red Deer, and Sika Deer.

- A variety of flora and fauna are also available in the garden.
- The Fountains Abbey located in the site was the largest and wealthiest abbey in England at a time and operated for more than 400 years. It was shut down on the order of Henry VIII for the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1539.
- The site has beautiful lakes, temples, canals, and cascades which provide pleasure to the eyes of the visitors. All these things make the trip unforgettable.
