Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a national park located in the Arusha Region of Tanzania. It was established in the year 1959. It covers an area of 8292 kilometers square. The park is governed by Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and is visited by more than 500k people every year. It was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It was placed on the list of World Heritage Site in Danger from 1984 to 1989.
