About Natural and Culturo Historical Region of Kotor
Natural and Culturo is an old part of the town of Kotor in Montenegro.it contains the fortifications of Venetian Cattaro and the surrounding area of the inner Bay of Kotor. The area is extended to approximately 14,600 hectares. It was designated as the World Heritage Site in the year 1979. The site was hit by a heavy earthquake in April 1979 due to which it was placed on the list of endangered sites and was removed in 2003. It is easy to reach from Dubrovnik from where many tours are organized daily.

- The area is important due to its unique architecture with integrates the cities to the Gulf of Kotor.
- It has ruins of the Roman culture as well as the medieval period when it was an important commercial and artistic center. It was an important city of the Byzantine Empire in the 10th century while was a free land from 1186 to 1371.
- The site coincides with the crests of the natural sinkhole formation. There are two national parks named Orten and Lovcen surrounding the site.

- It is also a good hiking place so you must need a lot of time to visit a number of churches and monasteries which are situated on the mountain.
