About Land of Olives and Vines Cultural Landscape of Southern Jerusalem
Battir is a village located in the West Bank of Palestine. It is just 6.4 kilometers away from Bethlehem and is located southwest of Jerusalem. The town is located above the modern route of Jaffa-Jerusalem railway which was a border between Israel and Jordan. In earlier times, the city falls in between the route of Jerusalem to Bayt Jibrin. It is a small village within an area of 7.4 kilometers square. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Danger in 2014. The village is just 15 minutes car ride away from Bethlehem.
