Belize Barrier Reef is a coral reef on the coast of Belize. It fell under the Latin American and the Caribbean region. It is located 300 meters offshore in the north while 40 kilometers south in the country limit. It is 300 kilometers long and is a part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, It became a World Heritage Site in 1996. It remained an endangered site from 2009 to 2018 when it was removed from the list of World Heritage sites.
