About Archaeological Site of Sabratha
Sabratha is an ancient city located in the Zawiya District of Libya. The site is situated on the Mediterranean coast and is approximately 70 kilometers away from Tripoli. The city was founded in about 500 BCE. It was designated as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. And was listed in World Heritage Site in Danger since 2016. It is about 10 meters high. It is located in the westernmost part of the ancient city of Roman Tripolis.
