About Air and Tenere Natural Reserves
The Air and Tenere Natural Reserve as the name suggests is a national nature reserve located in the Republic of Niger in West Africa. The site covers an area of 29,870 square miles including the eastern half of the Air Mountains and the western sections of the Ténéré desert. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991 while it was added to the list of World Heritage Site in Danger in the following year.
