About Shivanasamudra Falls
The River Kaveri gushes down the cliff to form the Shivanasamudra Falls. Found in Mandya District of Karnataka, India, the fall has a height of 90 meters. The waterfall has two drops and has a width of 305 meters. The perennial waterfall?s average flow rate is 934 m3/s. It is noted as one of the best waterfalls near Bangalore. The cascading fall is located 139 km from the city of Bangalore. The Segmented waterfall consist of numerous parallel stream created adjacent to each other.

- Noted among the popular tourist places in Karnataka, it is also acknowledged with the name Siva Samudram, which means Shiva's Sea.
- The island town of Shivanasamudra divides the river into twin waterfalls, which are Gaganachukki and Barachukki.
- It is assumed that there was a village situated here. A group of ancient temples can still also be found at the site, most famous ones including Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Sri Someshwara Temple, and more.
- The best time to experience the luscious view of the falls is in the monsoon season, from July to October.
- A general misapprehension around the falls is that the Gaganachukki is the left segment whereas the right segment is identified as Bharachukki. However, the fact is Bharachukki falls are found several km to the south-west.
