About Athirappilly Water Falls
Surrounded by the magnificent beauty of lush green trees, Athirappilly Water Falls is the largest waterfall in Kerala. Height of the falls is noted to be 82 feet where as it is 330 ft wide. Average flow rate of the waterfall is 52 m3/s. The fall is created by the drop of Chalakkudi River, that originates in the Anamudi mountains. The water from the river rush around big rocks and rapids down in three separate plumes. There is a total of four drops.

- The fall is accessible without any difficulty from Chalakudy and Angamaly by taxi or by bus.
- The falls is noted as the "The Niagara of India".
- The number of film scenes has been shot at the breath-taking waterfalls including Bollywood films Mela (2000 film), Agyaat, Dil Se, Kuch Naa Kaho, and more. The waterfall and popular sequence in the film 'Baahubali: The Beginning' is shot at Athirappilly Falls.

- After the Tamil movie Punnagai Mannan, the falls got its name Punnagai Mannan Falls.
