About Keng Tung
Kengtung is a town in the state of Shan in Myanmar. The town is situated on the National Highway 4 and the Asian Highway. It is spread in an area of about 3506-kilometer square having a population of over 170k people according to the 2014 census. According to the belief, it was founded by Tai Lue and was reestablished by the grandson of King Mangrai who defeated Tai Lue in the 13th century. The town is the home to the regional military command of the Tatmadaw. It also features Kengtung Airport.
