About Kiyotaki Tunnel
Kiyotaki Tunnel is a tunnel which connects Arashiyam to its neighbouring town, Sagakiyotaki. It is about 444 meters long and is popular as a haunted location. The tunnel was constructed in the year 1927 by slaves. It is said that many slaved died due to harsh working conditions in this tunnel. The length of the tunnel is also assumed as unlucky, as number 4 is considered to have brought bad luck and it has four repeated three times. Also, the Japanese word for death is pronounced similar to four.

As the tunnel is situated between Arashiyam and Sagakiyotaki, you have definitely crossed through this tunnel while going to Sagakiyotaki from Arashiyam or vice-versa. - Many people claimed that they heard a woman’s screaming inside the tunnel. They suffered headaches, nausea, and dizziness while passing through the tunnel.
- It is also said that at nighttimes, the traffic signals turn green from red, causing car accidents due to bad luck of the tunnel.

- Some people claim that they have seen spirits while crossing through the tunnel. Though scientific explanation of the screaming is that the sound of horns of the vehicles passing through creates an echo which exactly looks like something inhuman roaring inside the tunnel.
- Also, some people have noticed the temperature goes down while entering the tunnel, which gives a hint of paranormal occurrences. But it could be explained that often dark tunnel are comparatively cooler than outside.
- Some people also tells the story that a woman in white jump on the car bonnets while waiting at the traffic signals.
