About Fagus Factory in Alfeld
The Fagus Factory was a shoe last factory situated in the Alfeld town of Lower Saxony in Germany. The construction of the factory started in 1911 and it started operation in 1925. It is the finest example of modern architecture. The structure was designed by Walter Gropius and Adolf Meyer at the request of owner Carl Benscheidt. The design of the factory was influenced by the 1909 AEG turbine factory. The site is located just ten minutes walking distance from Alfred train station.
