The Oriental theatre or the Iroquois theatre as it was known remains a site of tragedy and sadness. One of the deadliest fires in the country?s history took place here. Once known as the most beautiful theatres in Chicago, the building would burn and fall killing hundreds of people. Demolished and rebuilt, the oriental theatre now stands in its stead.
