About Finnish National Theatre
Finnish National Theatre is a popular theatre located in Helsinki city of Finland. It is situated the north of the Helsinki Central Railway Station Square. The theatre opened its door in 1902 and is proud of being the oldest Finnish-speaking professional theatre throughout Finland. It has the capacity of sitting of about 1424 people at a time. The theatre was designed by Onni Tarjanne and Heikki & Kaija Siren in the National Romantic Style. The theater is home to four permanent stages which are the main stage, the small stage, the Willensauna stage, and the Omapohja studio.

  • According to some reports, the theatre is haunted by at least half a dozen ghosts. One of them is of Finnish actor Urho Somersalmi. The actor was happily married to actress Ailli. But he suffered severe mental disorder in his 70s and chopped his wife to death with an axe gifted to him by the Finnish Actors' Union and afterward hanged himself on the ceiling lamp hook. His ghost was reportedly seen roaming in the theatre carrying that same axe.

  • Another incident that can shiver you is with the director of a play who was sitting in the front row at the time of the rehearsal. He felt someone patting his back, he felt there will be one of the audio technicians, but when he turned back, there was no one.
  • One actor suffered a scary incident when he saw an electrician moving weirdly in the theatre balcony in the late evening. He noticed the man was floating in the air and was blue. The actor decided to take a short break after the incident.
