About Alexander Theatre
Alexander Theatre as the name suggests is a theatre situated in Helsinki city of Finland. It was founded in 1875 by the then Governor-General of Russian Finland named Count Nikolay Adlerberg taking permission from Alexander II of Russia. It was designed by architect Jeronim Osuhovsky. The walls and the ceilings of the theater are beautifully decorated with paintings and the best quality interior. The grand opening of the theatre was organized in March 1880. The theatre is regularly used for rehearsal facilities, guest stage performances, dance studios, and events of different companies.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Alexander Theatre
- According to some reports, ghost of a dead officer who died in Crimea War roamed in the theatre. Some people believes that, the ghost shifted to Helsinki along with the tiles which was brought to the place from Aland at the time theatre was constructed.
