Santala Devi is a tourist attraction located in Dehradun. The temple has its religious value as well as preferred by adventure lovers. It is located between dense green forest, thus provide a beautiful view to quench your thirst for the natural beauty. The idols of Santaula Devi and her brother are worshiped in the temple. The temple is just 15 kilometers away from the city of Dehradun and is easily accessible through any of the suitable means of transport.

If you own a car or scooter, a small drive from Dehradun city will take you to Punjabiwala. After a two kilometer track, you will reach the temple.

  • According to the legend, Sanatala Devi and her brother were fighting against Mughal Army. When they realized that they would not be able to compete with the huge army, both of them decided to abandoned their weapons and started praying to God. At that time, a sudden light flickered and turned both the brother and sister into stone idols.
    The day on which they turned into stone was Saturday, that’s why Saturday is believed to be day of Santala Devi and crowd on the temple is more than the usual working days.
