About Katyayani Peeth
Katyayani Peeth is a prominent temple located in the city of Vrindavan. It is also called Uma Shakti Peeth. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is one among the 51 shakti peeth which were made after the death of Sati. Best time to visit the temple is Navratri or Vijaya Dashami. No entrance fee is charged to access the temple premises. It opens at 7:00 in the morning and closes at 11:00 am, while evening opening hours are 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

The temple is located in Goda Vihar at an accessible location in Vrindavan. You can take any local means of transport to reach the location.
Bus
After reaching Vrindavan bus stand or Mathura bus stand, you can take a taxi or an autorickshaw which will drop you right on the gate of the temple.

Take a train for Mathura station, and after reaching there, you have to take any local means of transport available to reach the destination comfortably.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Katyayani Peeth
- Katyayani peeth is one of the 51 Shakti peeth where body parts of Goddess Sati fell. It is said the hair of Sati fell on Brij where the today’s Katyayani Peeth is located.
- The temple was also mentioned in Vishnu Puran where Gopis of Vrindavan worshiped the Goddess Katyayani to get Lord Krishna as their consort. Also, Goddess blessed them and they performed Maharaas with Lord Krishna. It is also said that Goddess gives desired grooms to the girls who visit the temple.
- The temple welcomes a number of tourists in Navratri.
- It has idols of the Lord Shiva, Lord Laxmi Narayan, Lord Ganesh and Lord Surya alongside Katayayani Mata statue. Also, sword of Devi named Uchawal Chandrahaas is also worshipped in the temple.
