How To Reach Banke Bihari Temple
Bake Bihari temple is the most popular temple in Vrindavan and several transport means are available in the city to take you to the location.
Bus
You can take a bus for Vrindavan or Mathura from your hometown to reach the location. The city also welcomes numerous pilgrimage buses that will take you directly to the dharamshala or close to the location of the temple and after a small walk you will reach the temple. Auto-rickshaw or cycle rickshaw are also available at Mathura bus stand and Vrindavan bus stand to take you to the location.
Train
Mathura city is well-connected with a number of trains going to the city. After reaching Mathura station, you can take an auto or taxi to Vrindavan that will drop you close to the Banke Bihari temple and after a small walk in the streets you will reach the temple.
Private Transport
You can also access the temple with your own vehicle but have to park your car at the nearby parking as the streets are so small to enter with a car. After a small walk, you will reach the temple.

- If you are thinking, why curtains are closed after every five minutes and disturbing you in uninterrupted darshan of Banke Bihari then you must know the fact, that it is believed that if darshan is not interrupted, Banke Bihari will go with the devotees to their homes leaving temple empty.

- The idol remains empty-handed and hold flute only on the occasion of Sharad Purnima.
- It is a co-incidence that Swami Haridas who is the founder of the temple and his wife Smt Gangadevi were both born on the occasion of Radha Ashtami. Also, he belongs to the same linage of Shri Gargacharya who was the family guru of Yadavs and did Namkaran Sanskar of young Lord Krishna and Balram. It is also believed that Swami Haridas was the reincarnation of Lalita sakhi who was an inner consortium of Lord Krishna.
- It is said that divine couple Radha Krishna themselves appeared after being praised with the devotion of Swami Haridas at Nidhivan and turned into the idol in a combined form. The idol was later on transported to the location where we get blessed with darshan of Bihari ji.
- The lord is worshipped in the form of young child that’s why there are no bells inside the whole temple premises. Also, there is no tradition of Mangala (early morning) aarti or sewa in the temple.
