Dhaka Airport Road as the name suggests connects the  Shahjalal International Airport with Dhaka city. It is an 8-lane major artery road. It is the only road that connects Dhaka with the northern Districts of Bangladesh. It leads to some important landmarks like Bangladesh Navy Headquarters, Best Western Dhaka, Dhaka Cantonment, Le Meridien Dhaka, and more alongside Shahjalal International Airport. It is one of the best-maintained roads all over Bangladesh having smooth traffic thanks to flyovers and interchanges.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Dhaka Airport Road
- Though it is an important road that connects various landmarks to Dhaka there are many tales of the road being haunted by a lady ghost. Many drivers and passersby claim that they had seen a lady in white clothes that usually seen in between Biman Office and Jasimuddin. According to them, the lady died in a deadly car crash along with her family years ago. . Since then, she tries to take revenge for her death. She is seen running across the middle of the road with a fast speed towards the drivers and scares them in the late night. Many of the drivers lost their control resulting in their own accident after being frightened by the mysterious figure in the middle of the road. She appears so sudden that drivers lost control but in the daytime, the road is completely safe. Many of the accidents also led to their own death due to loss of control.
