About Vondelpark
The Vondelpark is a public park situated in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The park is spread in an area of 120 acres. Initially, it was named Nieuwe Park but later on changed to Vondelpark, based on the name of poet Joost van den Vondel. The park is controlled by Amsterdam-Zuid and is open throughout the year. It is visited by over ten million people each year. A perfect place for an outing with an open-air theatre and various foodservice facilities available. It also has a playground for kids. The park was designed by the architect Jan David Zocher. The park was expanded in 1877 and the Pavillion was designed by W. H. Hamer Jr and was finished in 1878.
