About Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra
Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra is a reserved area in Sumatra, Indonesia. It consisted of three national parks which are Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park, Kerinci Seblat National Park, and Gunung Leuser National Park. The site covers an area of over two million hectares. It gained the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 while it was included in the list of World Heritage Site in Danger in 2011 due to a threat of poaching, illegal logging, and other action harmful to the ecological system of the area.

The authorities also trying to put a brake on illegal logging and cutting of forest for agriculture purposes so that endangered species like Orangutan may be conserved.
