About Sangay National Park
Sangay National Park is a reserved area situated in Ecuador. It falls under three provinces Chimborazo, Morona Santiago, and Tungurahua. The park is spread in an area of over five thousand kilometer square. It was founded in the year 1979 and became a World Heritage Site in 1983 for its natural beauty. The park was under the threat due to poaching, extensive grazing, and road construction in the area and was put on the list of endangered sites in 1992. It was removed from the list in 2005.
