About Legoland San Diego
Legoland is a very popular theme park and aquarium situated in San Diego. The third of its kind, in Carlsbad, it is based on the concept of ?lego?, the toy brand. It features Lego-sized reproductions of certain areas of the US, in addition to a waterpark, aquarium, and its very own Legoland Hotel. The sea life aquarium acts as an interactive guide to the life of the sea. It is the perfect spot for kids as well as adults to indulge in a fun-filled day.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Legoland San Diego
- Legoland has several areas, each for its own recreation and purpose. The waterpark offers a chance to experience many rides including the Riptide Racers, the Wipeout Lagoon, Build-a-Raft River, Duplo Splash Safari, Joker Soaker, Pirate Reef, Orange Rush, Soak n Sail, etc. The Splash Zoo offers a different set of rides, splash zones, and epic water adventures.

- There are more than 30,000 Lego models at Legoland created from more than 62 million colorful Lego bricks. The largest model is the "Brontosaurus", a giant dinosaur named Bronte created out of more than 2 million bricks. The smallest model is a tiny rabbit in a magician's hat in Miniland Las Vegas which is made out of a mere four bricks!

- There are more than 60 rides, shows, and attractions including Lego Star Wars, the Miniland Model Display, Pirate Reef, and Lego Legends of Chima Water Park. The employees here are referred to as ?Model Citizens?.

- Each of these "model citizens" has a name badge with Minifigures fixed onto it. If your little one wants one of the Model Citizen?s Minifigures, he or she will gladly trade with them. You?ll also find trading posts throughout the park that offer tons of mini-men to trade for.

- The Sealife Aquarium offers a chance for up-close encounters with sea creatures, including sharks, octopi, and rays, etc. The newest exhibit is the "Sea at Night" which allows its visitors to stroll under a starry sky-during the day.

- In 2019, in honor of Legoland turning 20 years old, kids below the age of 12 were allowed free entry all year long.

- There is a Lego factory tour that enables visitors in understanding the process of making lego bricks. There are displays of machines that are used to make Lego bricks, and you even have an option to get a special item engraved by someone at the end.
