About Keoladeo National Park
Keoladeo National Park is a protected area and a very important and popular bird sanctuary. It was established in 1982 and spans the area of around 7100 acres. As of 2008, more than 100,000 visitors visit the park. The site is governed and managed by Rajasthan tourism development corporation.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Keoladeo National Park
- It is said to be that the sanctuary was created more than two and a half centuries ago. The area declared as a bird sanctuary in 1976 and later become a national park in 1982.
- The site is home to more than 230 known species of birds and that?s why a number of ornithologists reached here every year especially in hibernal season of birds.

- The place is certified as a world heritage site by UNESCO due to its good bird hibernal season.
- There are many nearby tourist attractions to the park such as the government museum, Bharatpur palace, Lohgarh fort, Deeg palace, and more.

- This park is entirely enclosed by a two meter high boundary wall that reduces the chances of any infringement and biotic disturbances.
