About Gir National Park
Gir National Park is a protected area in Gujarat. It is actually located in Gir Somnath district. It was established in 1965 and encompasses the area of 1153 sq km. It is the only land of Asiatic lions. As of 2004, there are over 60,000 visitors visit in the park. The site is governed by forest and environment department of India.
