Disneyland is known as the ?source of magic? and happiness globally. The Disney theme park is the only one designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. - The idea for Disneyland was born when Walt Disney took a trip to different amusement parks with his 2 daughters, Diane and Sharon. He had an idea to build a place where children and adults could have fun and entertainment.
- The initial project was referred to as the "Mickey Mouse" park which was to be about 8 acres. This then developed into the Disneyland we know today. It was inaugurated in the year 1955.
- There is plenty to do and explore here. People have a chance to spend a day in a fairytale and meet the life-size versions of their favorite Disney characters, from Cinderella to Mickey mouse. One may pet the barnyard animals at the 1800's western Big Thunder Ranch or tour the Sleeping Beauty Castle. - Feral cats have roamed the grounds since the park opened, which Disney positively discouraged. However, they have been embraced, as they are typically nocturnal anyway. Around 200 cats reportedly reside at the park.
