About Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal is a Water Palace situated in the capital city of Rajasthan, India. It is built in the center of an artificial lake named Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city. It is denoted as the architectural showcase of the Rajput architecture. It was built by Mahraja Madho Singh in 1750.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Jal Mahal
- In the 18th century, the lake and the palace refurbished and distended by Rajput ruler Jai Singh Second.

- The site has a surface area of around 300 acres and the palace has a depth of around 4.5 meters.
- The five stories structure is made of red sandstone, four floors of the building remain underwater. It was suffered in the past plasterwork and wall damaging due to waterlogging.
- The most pleasant time is to visit the palace in the rainy season. Most people visit the place during the period of October to March.
- Visitors are not allowed in the palace, they can enjoy the view by boating in the lake.
