About Salar Jung Museum
Salar Jung Museum is a popular museum in the capital city Hyderabad of Telangana of India. It is located on the bank of the Musi River at Dar-ul-Shifa. It is an art museum having more than a million objects on the display. It was inaugurated in December 1951 by former late Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. Before that, it was a private art collection of the Salar Jung family which was endowed to the nation after Salar Jung III. It opens from Saturday to Thursday from ten in the morning to five in the evening. The museum is very close to Hyderabad Central Bus Stand. A five-minute bus ride to Uppaguda from the bus stand after which two minutes walk takes you to your desired location. If you are visiting by car, you can take the route NNH163 or NH65 and after crossing the Chatrapati Shivaji bridge you will arrive at the Salar Jung road which leads you to the museum. The museum charges Rupees twenty for an adult while children below 18 are free to enter the museum. If you are not an Indian national then you have to pay Rupees 500 to witness this masterpiece.
