The National Palace Museum as the name suggests is a museum in Taipei, Taiwan. It was a part of the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City. The museum has two parts Northern and Southern branches. The Peking branch is older which was founded in 1925 while the Taipei branch was established four decades later in 1965. The northern branch was designed by the architect Huang Baoyu while the Southern branch is credited to architect Kris Yao. The historian Wu Mi-cha is currently serving as the director of the museum.
