About Louvre Abu Dhabi

It is an art museum situated in capital city of United Arab Emirates. It spread in an area of about twenty four thousand square meters while the gallery area covers eight thousand square meters. It is proudly largest art museum in the whole Arabian peninsula. It remains open from 10:00 am to midnight. Galleries and Exhibitions closes at 6:30 pm on weekdays while at 8:30 pm from Friday to Sunday. Dome, café and restaurants which serve visitors until midnight closes on Monday. A ticket amounting to 17.68 USD is charged for an 18+ adult, however, visitors below the age of 18 are free to enter the premises.

You will be surprised to know that the huge floating dome has more weight than the Eiffel Tower of Paris. It weighs around 7500 tonnes while the Eiffel tower's weight is about 7300 tonnes.
If you visited the museum you have seen stars on the dome. There are about 7850 stars to complete this geometric structure. The stars are of various sizes and angles which are intertwined in eight different cladding layers. The inner layers are of aluminum while the outer layer is made up of stainless steel.
One important fact that you must know that the largest star in the whole dome is about 13 meters in diameter and weighs around 1.3 tonnes.
The government of Abu Dhabi had to spend about 525 million US Dollars to the Paris Government to accomplish the dream project.
All the stars of the dome are interweaned with the traditional roofing material of Emirates in which sunlight passes through the dome and it looks like rain of light.
You can reach there by taking a boat or can also arrive with the land transport whichever is preferred.
There are 55 detached buildings and 23 of which are devoted to galleries.
If you are thinking how this heavy dome is standing than you must know that there are four piers that support the dome but they are hidden in the museum building.
As the dome was so heavy, it required super-sized crane to lift at the time of construction.
