About Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts
Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts is a well-known museum in Vietnam. The building was founded between 1929 and 1934 for Hui-Bon-Hoa family. The design of the building is a brain child of French architect Rivera. It was converted into a museum in 1987. It is a three-storey building showcasing Vietnamese sculpture, silk painting, oil and lacquer painting. Likewise, it also features a collection of ancient Buddhist art and Vietnamese ceramics. The museum remains open for public visit from eight in the morning to five in the evening throughout the week.

- According to the legends, the owner of the house Hui Bon Hoa only daughter suffered with leprosy when the disease was spread in the city. According to the rumor, though the girl was very beautiful but due to disease she turned into an ugly face. Though the locals were not aware about her illness and they were surprised with her sudden disappearance. They also saw a shadow in the closed window of the mansion. A mechanic hired in the building said that there is a room on the top floor where he has seen a maid delivering food through a hole. It is estimated that the girl was quarantined as the girl caught an infectious disease. Also, locals heard her screaming inside the chamber as she was helpless due to her disease and loneliness. She eventually died, and her father built a stone coffin and put her inside instead of burying her in the ground. Some people claim that she could be still heard crying at night through the chamber. On her first death anniversary, her father bought a doll, a white dress, and a plate of rice in the chamber. When the maid came to take those things, she was surprised to see half of the rice was eaten. When she peeked through the hole, she saw the girl in the white dress, holding the doll sitting on the coffin. She told the whole story to the father. After which he planned to give a proper funeral to the body. It is said that her soul still haunts the mansion.
