Gandhi Memorial Museum is one of the eminent places in Tamil Nadu. It was set up in the year 1959. The museum is the fifth branch of the Gandhi Museums. It displays the collection related to Mahatma Gandhi.
History
Earlier the building was the palace of Rani Mangammal, but was converted into a museum dedicated to the father of the nation. It was launched by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1959.
The museum is open to the public six days of a week while remains closed only on Sundays. The morning timings to visit are 10:00 - 01:00 PM and evening timings are 02:00 PM -05:00 PM. Visitors can freely take a tour of the museum without paying a single penny.

The museum is located at the Collector Office Road which is the main crossing road for the vehicles and due to this travelers will not face any issue in reaching the museum via any mode of transportation.
