About Fotografiska
Started with the purpose to only cater to contemporary photography, Fotografiska is the largest photography museum in the world. It opened its gate for the general public on 21 May 2010 and its establishment is credited to brothers John and Per Broman. The gallery consists of 5500 m2 of exhibition space. Though its name translates to "The Swedish Museum of Photography", it is not a museum as it does not contain collections, neither conduct research, and is for-profit. Its display collection is developed straight with the artists, estates, and galleries or curated around a central theme. Every year, the visitors enjoy four unique large exhibitions and about 20 smaller exhibitions. From emerging artists to internationally famous photographers, they have shown work from many talents in their over 200 exhibitions. It currently has 2 locations in Estonia and New York and one is under construction in London.
